The Way To Determine An Executive Education Program 1. Find out the development needs. Boil it right down to the top three development needs, or perhaps in simple terms, "what are you looking to get from a program?" Typical answers are "learn how you can be strategic", "leading change", or some mix of functional knowledge (finance, sales, and marketing). There may be is a timeframe that's better or worse than others (i.e., next Six months, steer clear of the summer, etc...) 2. Search your favorite executive education providers. 3. Once you see one or two potential programs, locate a good fit. Glance at the recommended participant level, participant mix, industry mix, and company participation. 4. Look into the instructors, see the bios. Look at the day-to-day agenda, topics, and activities. Again, you are looking for an excellent fit for your participant and his/her development needs. Talk with the provider's Exec Ed Director, or somebody that will help you find out more on the programs. Ask other's when they have knowledge of the program. 5. Speak to past participants if possible, or someone in charge of leadership/executive development development. 6. Geography can often be one factor. Trying to find a global experience? Than look for a good combination of global participants, or better yet, attend a program away from U.S. 7. Length of program: Programs range anywhere from 2-3 days to weeks. I honestly do not know how one meet the expense of to go to a 6 week program currently, unless they may be over a sabbatical or their business is just trying to find rid of them for a time. 8. Read the amenities'. Fine, I know, it is a chance to learn rather than a trip, but top notch food, accommodations, and surroundings each is the main total experience. Also check if the area and meals are within the program. 9. Factors that should 't be part of a conclusion: alumni relationships, timing coinciding with the NCAA playoffs, and catchy program titles. 10. After all of this, narrow it as a result of 2-3 program, and after that select according to best fit, timing, and charges.
