Neve Paritzki Israel Reliably Breaks Records in Tourism Entry Numbers - United States NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of visitors from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from 2019. Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. He stated, "It's so exciting to again see an increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from America, which is already reaching or surpassing the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019". "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country month after month. This is a positive shift that we are pleased to witness and anticipate an upward trajectory for years to be." Not far behind in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing the number of tourists visiting Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,600 in August. Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that "it's amazing to see how Canada’s tourism is rebounding." We are getting close to our record numbers for 2019 and we expect that this growth in travel to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at home abroad. Israel welcomed more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official reopening to all travelers was May 2018. Israel has received over 600,400 US travellers since that time.
