So I didn’t expect to make another video that soon, but Obsiv recently shared a lot of news on the new XIM device, so I guess its time for another video update. Now before I get to the new stuff, if you want to learn more about the new XIM device then don’t forget to watch my previous update videos They summarize the development of the last few months and what we can expect from the new device. Now the first and biggest information is that the new XIM device will potentially have Playstation 5 compatibility. Now I say potentially because I am not allowed to confirm or deny that, but on the question on if PS5 users should get an Xbox for the new XIM device he said that there is no need to do that. So that is a very strong hint that the new XIM will work with the Playstation 5. But it doesn’t stop there, the community obviously asked him on how that solution would look like and how well it will work.
His answer was that the PS5 solution will be just as fast and direct as USB over 1000hz. That has been measured in the lab by the XIM Devs. So whatever the solution will look like, it will be just as good as a direct USB connection.

Now on the question of if XIM Nexus will also receive this Playstation 5 compatibility, his answer was that this is sadly not possible. However, he also said that the new XIM product will be fully compatible with XIM Nexus. So, by connecting your Nexus to the new XIM device, you can retrospectively add PS5 compatibility to your Nexus. He even revealed how such a setup would look like. The new XIM device replaces the Nexus adapter, so your Nexus controller will directly communicate with the new XIM device. Now that of courses leaves the question what other benefits the new XIM device has to offer for Nexus users!

Another big announcement is about the mouse movements. The mouse processing of the new XIM will be very different to the one of all other XIM products. So you can expect to see a noticeable improvement in the mouse translation as well. Now as I guys already told you in one of the last videos, a new XIM will always come with big improvements, and so far each XIM product provided better mouse movements than its predecessor. And the new XIM will be no exception to that.

Now at last we have a few more infos about the price and release.
First off, the pricing hasn’t been done yet, but will be announced at a later time. And secondly, the new XIM device is still on track for a release, later this year.

Now in my next video we might already talk about the details of the PS5 compatibility, or how much better the mouse movements of the new XIM will be.
