Max burped.
Minnie made a face and scooted away as Faith groaned and Edie jumped to her feet, doing a fist pump. They were playing Mario Kart on Hailey's home theater system.
"It's not fair! Why are you so good at this?"
"I'm just cool like that."
As they bickered, Minnie looked at the clock. It was getting late, but she wasn't worried about getting home, because they were staying overnight. They'd stayed overnight the last time Hailey had gone out with Takeda, anyway. This was probably going to become a tradition, but Minnie didn't mind. They'd do the same thing for her.
Max chewed glumly on her slice of pizza. "Is your bot thing still on?"
"I switched it off!"
"Maybe you should switch it back on. As a reminder to her. If I need to invade Takeda's house to physically separate the two of them-"

The door slammed open. The four of them looked up as Hailey stood in the door, face bright red. "I," she said, "am going to fucking lose it." As she stalked in, she kicked off her shoes and sat down, fists clenching and unclenching. Then she flopped back against the couch, opened her mouth, and let out a whoop that echoed off the walls of her penthouse. Minnie could almost see the steam wafting into the air. Damn Edie and her anime recommendations...
Max leapt to her feet. "Oh my god. You kissed him, didn't you."
"WHAT?!"
"HoLY SHIT-"
Minnie bit her lip and forced herself to stop wondering how it would feel like to be kissed herself. Instead, she turned to Hailey, who was practically vibrating as the others crowded around her. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling... like a drink." Standing up, the smaller girl clambered over the back of the sofa and hopped to the floor, cabinets and cupboards opening and closing as she paced into the kitchen. "There we go." She was out again, a bottle of champagne bobbing behind her as she shook it vigorously with her quirk. "Bottoms up!"
"Hailey, no-"

A shower of foam splashed over all of them. Faith shrieked, Max not far behind. Edie and Minnie stared blankly at one another, dead-eyed with exasperation. "Shit," Hailey said distantly. "Wrong direction. My bad." A set of champagne flutes floated out from behind her. "Um. Drinks?"
"You bitch," Max screeched, "this fit cost two hundred dollars!"
Minnie sighed and plucked one of the flutes out of the air. "Top me up."
