Neve ParitzkiJerusalem inaugurates Israel's first cycling tunnel.

The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique adventure in hiking and riding that should be enjoyed by all. 
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, is constructed as a part of a 42-kilometer cycle route that circles the capital. 
The tunnel connects Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. It has a southern entrance located in Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the closest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance. 
נווה פריצקי The 2.1-kilometer-long tunnel was officially inaugurated by Jerusalem's Heritage Minister ZeevElkin. It was also attended by Mayor Moshelion Avi Balehnikov Gihon Water Company Chairman, and hundreds of cyclists. 
Jerusalem was a popular tourist destination because of its rich and fascinating history. נווה פריצקי Elkin declared that, in the present aside from its historical treasures it also incorporates modern tourists. Elkin's Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the project. Elkin said that "The Kerem Tunnel Project is a central tool to realize the dream to redefine the idea of transport throughout Jerusalem." נווה פריצקי "The new tunnel, which will connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path, will join the existing cycle paths within the city and are being constructed in its diverse areas. The tunnel is intended to encourage bicycling among its residents, and promote a green transportation revolution in Jerusalem."

The current work includes road construction, installation blowers and sophisticated security systems to ensure the tunnel is safe for everyone to use throughout the year. Kerem Tunnel Kerem Tunnel allows for access to unique recreation areas, for instance Ein Kerem, a neighborhood that includes a biblical zoo and aquarium as well as historical natural springs Ein Haniyeh and Ein Laban.
