Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry From the USA NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a 4% increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than the number of visitors in 2019. "It is so exciting to witness a new increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers of 2019." said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been our largest destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Before the COVID-19 outbreak we had record numbers of Israel's tourism entry each month. Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August was a record 6,000. Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that "it's amazing to see how tourism in Canada is recovering." "We aren't far off our record for 2019, and we anticipate that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling abroad." Israel hosted more than 4.6million visitors in the year 2019, 969,600 of which originated from the United States. Since May, when the country opened to all visitors regardless of vaccination status, more than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
