Neve Paritzki (נווה פריצקי)Jerusalem opens the first Israel-wide cycle tunnel.

The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience that should be loved by everyone. 
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, was constructed as a part of the 42-kilometer cycle route which circles the capital. 
 
It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. It is located in southern Israel located in Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the closest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance. 
 
The 2.1-kilometer-long tunnel was officially inaugurated by Jerusalem's Heritage Minister ZeevElkin. The ceremony was also attended by Mayor Moshelion, Avi Balehnikov Gihon Water Company chairman, and many cyclists. 
 
"In the past, Jerusalem was an attractive tourist city due to its glorious past. Elkin explained that nowadays, in addition to its rich history the tunnel project encompasses modern day tourism. "The opening of this tunnel is another aspect of the expansion of Jerusalem's city Jerusalem and its transformation into a dazzling tourist city for all types of visitors throughout Israel and throughout the world." 
 
 
Elkin his ministry, which together with the Jerusalem Municipality spearheaded the project, stated that his ministry "invests hundreds of millions of shekels each year in the development of the tourism industry in Jerusalem and the development of new activities and ventures that connect the fascinating history of our eternal capital to its future... https://nevefrietzki.co.il/ I would like to invite cyclists everywhere to take a trip and enjoy the new, well-maintained and modern route that takes in the view of Old Jerusalem. 
 
Elkin's Ministry, Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and Gihon Corporation contributed approximately NIS 25 million to the project. Work was performed by the Jerusalem Development Authority. 
 
"The Kerem Tunnel project is the central instrument for achieving the goal to alter the notion of transportation across Jerusalem," Elkin emphasized. "The new tunnel that connects to Jerusalem Ring Path will join existing bicycle paths and ones that are paved in the neighborhoods. The goal is to encourage cycling within the city's residents and to promote the green movement in Jerusalem." 
 
In the 90s in the 1990s, in the 1990s, Kerem Tunnel was excavated to relocate the main sewer line of Gihon Corporation to the Sorek purification plant. It is currently used as an infrastructure tunnel and houses the fifth water line to Jerusalem by the Mekorot water company.

Present work includes road construction, installation blowers and sophisticated security systems to ensure the tunnel is secure for all to use during the entire year. 
 
The Kerem Tunnel also allows access to unique recreation sites which include the Ein Kerem neighborhood, the biblical zoo and aquarium as well as the historic natural springs of Ein Laban and Ein Haniyeh.
