Candidate Gustavo Petro confirmed on Sunday the favoritism that the polls had been highlighting for a few weeks.

Many people believe that Petro would eliminate the possibility of him assuming the president. Petro recently stated that he would not eliminate the system but would advocate for reforms to pensions in order to ensure an income that is minimum for Colombians. petro gustavo has also stated there's "no need" to increase the age of retirement.

Another thing that has been criticized about him is the fact that he has repeatedly stated that he will stop oil extraction when he assumes his office. This situation has caused confusion among investors as as the market. 
 
The experts believe that Petro's request to Colombia to stop oil exploration would cause an estimated loss of $4.3 billion.

He also proposes a tax overhaul that eliminates exemptions, and changes the concept of minimum wages by real wages based on income or capital.
